Christina Waterson, ELYSIUM Byron Bay
Flowwave gathers to mark the entrance of the Elysium Laneway Transformation, Byron Bay. A myriad of blues give the artwork an otherworldly presence set against the paperbark tree canopy it sits within. From different angles Flowwave’s minimal concentric bands may instil a sense of natural macro and microcosms; tracing the ebb and flow of daily rhythms near the coast; hints of orchid sepals or staghorn fronds; suggesting the form of light or the invisible magnetic field expanding outward from objects. Flowwave continues Waterson’s enquiry through making; exploring pattern recognition and the threshold of form and visual information needed to imbue a memory or a personal response.
