The Lindsay Arts Trail

Hepburn Shire Council, Creswick VIC

Creative Road’s Rebecca Townsend experience and knowledge in the role of public art in economic and tourist development helped drive the design development of this important Australian cultural tourism project.  In collaboration with Merran Morrison, Landscape Architect Darren Taitoko and Armsign, an interpretive sign company, a successful tender bid was awarded by Hepburn Shire Council to undertake the initial design stage of The Lindsay Art Trail.

The requirement for this project was to use public art, interpretive signage and landscape design to develop an art and heritage walk which celebrated the life of the famous Norman Lindsay family of artists and writers. Working closely with local stakeholders including passionate community members, we provided a diverse range of artistic, interpretive, event and marketing ideas for the town.

Our team recommended and rebranded the project to Creswick of the Lindsay’s and developed stronger links to regional tourism and economic development objectives. We reviewed the original art walk proposed, future proofing the project with digital technologies which lowered costs and increased accessibility.

Creative Road stimulate creative dialogue with stakeholders and team members to develop innovative art concepts. They recognise the opportunity for communities to engage with a broader audience, showcasing our local values, attributes and sense of place.
