Nike Savvas

‘It is important as an art maker to dissolve the boundaries that create and reinforce convention. I work from the inside to break down and erode the boundaries that create distinction, to create a unique animal of sorts, one that is free of the shackles of the arbiters of power. It’s all about liberty and a new world. It’s a kind of personal and public revolution.

Immersive environments offer an aesthetic, experiential space of open association and reverie, a shimmering zone of slippage and transition, an inhabited no-man’s land located between concrete sensory engagement and ‘naturalised’ states of abstraction and representation.’

‘Nike Savvas is a leading contemporary artist who employs a dazzling palette and repeated geometric forms in her practice.

Trained as a painter, Savvas also works fluidly across sculpture, installation, kinetic and light-based media. From singular objects to vast, cascading installations, her art is as visually compelling as it is conceptually grounded.’
