Angophora

PROJECT: Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Hospital

CLIENT: Health Infrastructure NSW

LOCATION: Hornsby, NSW

Angophora spans interior and exterior surfaces of the acute services building, drawing on the texture and form of native tree bark to symbolise resilience, healing, and connection to Country. The dual-site work merges abstraction with a grounded narrative, linking patients, staff, and visitors to the surrounding landscape. Material innovation and close collaboration with specialist suppliers Axolotl supported the project's bespoke finishes.

CREATIVE ROAD led the curatorial concept, facilitated the artist collaboration, and managed all phases of design development, fabrication, and installation on behalf of Health Infrastructure NSW. The artwork establishes a cohesive visual identity across the hospital, embedding cultural resonance within the healthcare environment.
