Skywhale is Patricia Piccinini's iconic hot air balloon — a monumental creature that invites curiosity and conversation around nature, evolution, and what it means to belong. Floating above the Splendour in the Grass festival site, the work created a vivid, unexpected encounter for 30,000 festival-goers.
