Stuart Green was commissioned to create the site specific bold sculptural marker, All Eyes in Us: The Commonwealth Star in celebration of the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games. Creative Road worked with the City of Gold Coast to develop the artist brief and manage artwork delivery through to installation. Back in 2018, CREATIVE ROAD proudly collaborated with the City of Gold Coast to commission a bold sculptural landmark in celebration of the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games. The result? A striking public artwork by artist Stuart Green titled All Eyes on Us: The Commonwealth Star, an exuberant, star-like form capturing the energy, colour and movement of the Gold Coast’s coastal spirit. Reflecting the bursting forms of tropical flora and surfboards, the artwork marked a moment when the Commonwealth’s gaze turned toward Surfers Paradise, radiating both celebration and place-based pride. Delivered in just seven months, our team worked alongside council to develop a tailored artist brief, shortlist proposals, and oversee concept through to installation.
