Brisbane River Art Framework
PROJECT: Brisbane River Art Framework
CLIENT: Brisbane City Council
LOCATION: Brisbane, QLD
The Brisbane River Art Framework established a vision for embedding cultural experiences along the city’s most significant public corridor. Developed over six months through extensive stakeholder consultation, the plan proposed a program of artworks and activations to create a connected cultural journey, ranging from landmark commissions to intimate interventions.
A major recommendation was Botanica, a temporary art event in the City Botanic Gardens that has since grown into a much-loved fixture in the Southeast Queensland cultural calendar. CREATIVE ROAD developed the framework and built the case for investment, balancing curatorial vision with strategic planning. The outcome positions public art as central to Brisbane’s identity, strengthening amenity, creative distinction, and the city’s ambition to be recognised internationally as a cultural destination.
