Paramatta Road Urban Amenity Improvement Project (PRUAIP)

PROJECT: PRUAIP Public Art Framework

CLIENT: Create NSW

LOCATION: Paramatta Road, Sydney, NSW

The $198 million Parramatta Road Urban Amenity Improvement Program is designed to transform the corridor into a more liveable and connected series of precincts. As part of this initiative, a Public Art Framework was developed in consultation with six local councils—Burwood, Canada Bay, Cumberland, Inner West, Strathfield, and City of Parramatta. The framework encourages investment in placemaking through high-quality, integrated outcomes, establishing curatorial principles, site opportunities, and delivery pathways to guide future commissions.

Since its publication, the framework has influenced significant public art projects across the corridor, embedding cultural outcomes in parallel with urban renewal. CREATIVE ROAD’s work positions public art as central to place identity, ensuring safe, welcoming, and distinctive spaces that deliver long-term value for diverse communities.
