Installed in the paediatrics zone, Welcome Home by Musonga Mbogo captures the energy and diversity of Canberra. Through an interactive play wall, murals, and wall graphics, the work celebrates the city’s landscapes, landmarks, and multicultural community. Colourful, textural, and engaging, it offers moments of visual relief and gentle distraction for children and families navigating the hospital environment. Inspired by childhood memories growing up in the suburbs of Canberra, the work evokes a sense of place, comfort, and cultural connection. As his first public art commission, the project marked a significant milestone - helping to launch Mbogo’s full-time art practice. CREATIVE ROAD supported the artist to deliver a culturally rich, child-centred outcome.
