Cabinet Of Culture / Cabinet of Country
PROJECT: Redfern Terrace Living Museum
CLIENT: City of Sydney
LOCATION: Redfern, NSW
CREATIVE ROAD with Brook Andrew, Reko Rennie, Aunty Rhonda Dixon-Grovenor, Bangawarra and Durbach Block Jaggers, Cabinet of Culture / Cabinet of Country reimagines a historic site as a living archive of Indigenous Redfern. This artist-led, community-informed concept transforms the terrace into a cultural home that honours past struggles, celebrates present leadership and nurtures future expression.
Anchored in memory and care, the project includes a dynamic archive, an annual First Nations residency and a civic space shaped by Country. Through architectural renewal, curated visibility and cultural hospitality, Cabinet of Culture / Cabinet of Country becomes a beacon of resilience and resurgence, holding space for stories often overlooked and offering a place of gathering, creativity and belonging for all who call Redfern home.
